Frequently Asked Questions
How do I check in?
Simply open the app and tap the large check-in button on the home screen. You can also check in by tapping on a reminder notification. One tap is all it takes!
What happens if I miss a check-in?
If you don't check in within your configured window, we'll send you reminder notifications. After your grace period expires (which you set), we automatically alert your emergency contacts via email (and SMS for Premium users).
Can I customize my check-in schedule?
Yes! In Settings, you can set your check-in window (e.g., 8 AM - 10 PM), grace period (how long before alerts are sent), and number of reminder notifications.
Do my emergency contacts need to install the app?
No! Your emergency contacts receive alerts via standard email and SMS. They don't need to install anything or create an account.
Is my location always being tracked?
No. Location sharing is completely optional and off by default. If you enable it, we only capture your location when you check in or open the app - we don't track you continuously. Only your most recent location is stored, and it's only shared in emergency alerts.
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
Free: 1 emergency contact, email alerts only.
Premium: Up to 5 emergency contacts, SMS alerts, location sharing in alerts, and priority support.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iOS: Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > LifePulse > Cancel
Android: Go to Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > LifePulse > Cancel
Your premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data including check-in history, contacts, and settings. This action cannot be undone.
What if I sent a false alarm?
If you missed a check-in by accident and alerts were sent, we recommend contacting your emergency contacts directly to let them know you're okay. You can also adjust your grace period in Settings to give yourself more time to check in.
Is my data secure?
Yes! Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for secure data storage and authentication. We never sell your data, and we only share information with your emergency contacts when you miss a check-in. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.
